American Meteorological Society Award

The American Meteorological Society (AMS) announced that it “is pleased to recognize outstanding individuals and organizations of the weather, water, and climate community through its Awards and Honors program”.  Helen has been awarded the 2019 Louis J Battan Author's Award for her book ‘Storm in a Teacup’.

The citation reads:

“For Storm in a Teacup: The Physics of Everyday Life, an elegant and entertaining book that connects the physics of seemingly mundane things to big ideas like climate change.”

The award will be presented at the AMS annual meeting in Phoenix, Arizona, USA in January 2019.
