Atmospheric physicist Ian Brooks, Polar scientist Allison Fong and sea ice expert Julienne Stroeve have recently returned from the largest polar expedition in history. They’ve faced some of the harshest conditions on Earth: polar night, complete darkness, heavy storms and temperatures that can reach minus 50°F, all in the name of science. They speak with Helen about their ground-breaking research and life in the shifting ice.
